Rodney Martin, a 1993 Harry S. Truman Fellow, attended a Reception at New York City’s Gracie mansion, the official residence of the Mayor of New York City, Bill DeBlasio, who himself is a 1981 harry S. Truman Fellow.
The event was a formal celebration to mark the Foundation’s 40th Anniversary.
The Harry S. Truman Fellowship, is the U.S. equivalent to the Rhodes or Marshall Fellowship and is a national highly competitive yearly competition. Recipients may only be nominated and must commit to enter public service. All Harry S. Truman fellows have exceptionally high GPA, most are Phi Beta Kappa and go on to serve in various public service positions. Truman Fellows are exempted from the Civil Service Exam.
Among those attending the Gracie Mansion Reception, CNN legal Analyst, Jeffrey Toobin, a variety of U.S. Attorneys, Federal Judges, and current and past elected officials.
